Good thing I had a spare.

There are few things I love more than coming home at night and getting ready for bed with my roommate Kristi. She's sort of like a pet, or a small child. She usually just follows me around the apartment telling me about her day and pointing out how long her arms are and informing me of her favorite desserts. Her favorite desserts are vanilla ice cream, pie and something else that I can't remember. After I told her that my favorite desserts are vanilla ice cream, brownies and popcorn, and after she gave me a lecture about how popcorn isn't a dessert, she told me, matter-of-factly that if we were a Venn diagram, vanilla ice cream would be in the middle.
That's not the story I wanted to tell.
Yesterday we were getting ready for bed when she told me that she had borrowed my sweater that day and that it looked really nice with the skirt she chose to match it with, but that she had sweat a little and tried to clean it but there were some stains in the pits, but she'd keep working on it.
We then went into the bathroom and I started brushing my teeth. Kristi started putting lotion on her face which was funny because she doesn't usually do that, so I figured it was just an excuse to stand in the bathroom with me. Probably about a minute after I started brushing Kristi sort of squealed/moaned (a noise she makes frequently when she's uncomfortable or concerned) and said, "I should tell you something but it's sort of terrible."
"Wew come on Kwisti, you can tew me" (that's my brushing my teeth voice).
"Ok, this morning I started brushing my teeth and I noticed it felt different....I looked down and realized I had grabbed your toothbrush...they're both green."
You may now picture me promptly dropping my toothbrush and all the contents of my mouth into the sink.
At least it only took her a minute of brushing to tell me that.

FINALLY!

Guys. This may be the best day of my life up to this point. Number one, I'm done with finals. Number two, which is actually more exciting and more important than number one, Chad is coming home!! Remember this big lug of a best friend? He gets in at 10:44 tonight and I'm losing it.

Having missionaries come home is so bitter sweet, though, don't you think? It's like, I'm so so insanely happy he's going to be home and that we don't have to miss him anymore. But he just had the best two years of his life. I almost wish he could stay just because he was loving it so much. He was so good--such a good missionary. He put his whole heart and soul into it and gave everything he had to the people there. It has been such a blessing and privilege to see how he has grown and become an even more amazing person than he was before. I'm sure glad the Lord blesses us with the exact people that we need in our lives and I'm sure there are so many people that needed him in the Baltics and I know he served them wholeheartedly. Just look at how good he is.

But now I'm grateful he gets to come back because we need a little Chadly time, too.

12 hours and 16 minutes, peeps. Get ready, it's gonna be big.

On the 14th Day of Christmas...

I realized I suck at blogging. again. I tried to catch up on all the days but I just don't see it happening this week. But! Finals will be over on Friday and then I can just blog to my hearts content. Until then, I found this really sweet video that you should watch because it's just so cute. Isn't it funny how they're wearing scarves and sweaters? I hope they're not made out of wool...

2nd Day of Christmas

Get ready for the most enthralling post yet.... oh wait, nope. Not today.
Cleaning checks tomorrow--I smell like lysol and I have this song on replay.
I just barely saw Elf for the first time like a week ago. How did that happen?? It's so great.
It's date night with Andrew. Can I get a woot? Woot!
Peace out homies!

First Day of Christmas

Andrew took me to the Winter formal last night! It was a little bit like prom, only better cause I was with Andrew and we played Just Dance 2 and ate KFC.

You should probably find yourself a boy who will bring you a rose and dance around like a fool just so you don't look lame and look at you like this even though your face looks like that. Love, I tell you.

We had a really good Thanksgiving

Like REALLY good. We had two Thanksgiving dinners, went to Trafalga, played front yard volleyball, nearly dominated at Minute to Win It date night, shopped at four in the morning, and partied at Costco.

Unfortunately it's back to the grind, but I'm going to be better at this whole blogging thing. How does a 25 Days till Christmas series sound? Good? Good.

Is it weird that I used "we" instead of "I"? I'm really grateful that I can do that. I'm really grateful for that boy.

May the Odds Be Ever In Your Favor

Can I get a woot and another freaking woot??!

Who's excited?

Yeah... About that....

There's this boy. I'd love to blog about it but I'd really rather just go be with him.

In the meantime, please be just as confused about this as I am.

Good Morning, Beautiful.

When I opened my eyes this morning, I saw this lovely little lady. Why is she doing a handstand? One can never be sure.

In my confusion, I left my room as quickly as possible and found this beaut.

And then I laughed because my life is funny.

And a Happy Birthday To Ya!

Would you just look at this smokin' hott lady?! If you can believe it, she turns the big 2-1 today! I know I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday when I was in fifth grade and we had our very first play date on the trampoline. I'm almost positive that that day she came into my life was one of the most important and significant things that could have ever happened to me and I think that most people who know her would say the same thing.
Jamie is most definitely one of the most incredible people I know... maybe fantastic is a better word to describe her. I can't think of one time when Jamie let me down. She is so dependable and loyal. She has been my friend when I didn't deserve her friendship. She is the most caring person I have ever known. She is always willing to give of herself to help others. She gives love so freely and so unconditionally. Jamie has always helped me to be more sensitive to the Spirit. Every day she has helped me to be a better person. She knows how to make good choices and she always does. And besides that, she is insanely funny. She can make anyone laugh and she has a good sense of humor about everything. She knows how to turn everything into a funny story and can create absolutely crazy things out of nothing. Seriously, though. She is so great. I only wish that I could have her in my life more. I hope she has the best day in the world because more than anyone, she deserves it.

Love you, Jame!

Pretend I posted this before midnight and it was actually still her birthday... I suck at blogging.

READ THIS BOOK!

Remember my good buddy, Reed? How could you forget? Well, his awesome mom just had her book published! It's the story of her sons, Reed and Rob and their family from her perspective as a mother. She shares many of her personal experiences and expresses how she worked through her challenges. It's such an inspiring story of Reed and Rob, but also of such a strong family that is still working hard to deal with all the trials they face. This family has taught me more about how to be happy than anybody I have ever known.

If you want your own copy you can buy it here! (You can even get in on your Kindle. cool.) So go buy it and be happy :)
I have this really annoying alarm. I also have this roommate, Kristi, whom I share a bathroom with. Lately I've been noticing a strange trend in Kristi's bathroom habits. For some reason, every morning, as soon as my alarm goes off Kristi races to the bathroom. Sometimes she will even walk right past me as I'm heading straight for the toilet and go in front of me. At first I was kind of annoyed, but today I started thinking that maybe Kristi wasn't taking over the bathroom maliciously, but maybe there is some other reason she's been acting this way. Classical Conditioning. Ever heard of it? I think I may have a mild case of it here and you know what I plan to do? Turn Kristi Kristi right into my very own little Pavlovian dog, I tell you. A little social experiment in my very own bedroom.
So here's how it's going to go down. From here on out, every time Kristi goes to the bathroom I'm going to play my alarm. Also, I'm going to keep a little jar of candy on my desk. After Kristi goes to the bathroom, and I play my alarm, Kristi gets a treat.
Just you wait, a few weeks of this and pretty soon, she'll be peeing her pants every time she hears my alarm. Not only that, but she'll be expecting a treat, too.
This is going to be good.

My cute sister, Annie and her husband, Cody, are adopting! Right now they are still looking for a birth mother and the best way to do that is through word of mouth. So... If you wanna help a sister out you should look at Annie and Cody's blog and adoption profile and then spread the word. Let me know if you know of anyone who knows of anyone who's aunt's cousin's friend's daughter is having a baby. We'll all love you forever!

Aren't they adorable?

It's Monday and I'm Already Tired of Homework and therefore, I Must Blog

Let's play a little catch up, shall we? New things about my life:

  • Moved down to Provo where I met my wonderful new roommates. Gems.
  • Started school again at BYU. School is harder than I remember, hence the blogging break to soothe my aching brains.
  • ....That's about it. You haven't missed much.
For those of you following the love aspect of my life, it's non existent. Derek came home and things have been great. We're friends and it's cool. Of course there are many other boys I've got my eye on at the moment--I'll keep you updated. Maybe.

And now for the big news..... duh Duh DUH

I'm going on a mission! Ta Da! I just started my papers today and I'm stoked/peeing my pants in nervousness.

Cool, right?

Now you're all caught up on my enthralling life. I know you were really wanting to know. Good news is, now we can move on to better, most interesting (or at least more entertaining) posts.

Peace out, homedawgs. mmm... J dawgs. Dinner, anyone?

I Miss Uganda

We had our HELP International team reunited this last weekend. I remembered how stinking incredible it was and then I wanted to go back. Instead I've just been watching this video of our adventures in Africa and looking at my pictures over and over. And now you can watch it too! It's kind of long but it does a good job of explaining a lot of the projects we worked on this summer.

Maybe soon I'll update on what my life is like right now. It's busy, hence the lack of blogging. My bad.

Nange!

So, I was hanging out with a bunch of kids and I got my camera out. This automatically causes chaos but of the best kind. They were all screaming "nange" (my turn) and shoving each other to be the one in front of the camera. I thought I'd share some since African children seem to melt our hearts. I only wish that you could have seen what comes after you take their picture. If you think these smiles are sweet, you should see their faces when you show them their picture. I wish I could be as grateful as they are--so happy to see a simple picture when I see myself everyday and never think twice about it.
